Software products for the structural engineering industry

Earthquake engineering

Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSI), acquired all of the rights to Professor Graham H. Powell’s nonlinear structural analysis software products, PERFORM-3D and PERFORM-COLLAPSE. Professor Powell joined the CSI development staff to help enhance and integrate this technology into CSI’s popular structural analysis and design packages, SAP2000 and ETABS. PERFORM-3D provides users with a sophisticated earthquake engineering tool for static pushover analyses and nonlinear dynamic response history analysis, while PERFORM-COLLAPSE aids engineers to model and analyze conditions of "progressive collapse" or "disproportionate collapse" in buildings. The software addresses areas of nonlinear analysis that are undergoing significant growth in the building, bridge, and infrastructure markets across the globe. Initially, PERFORM-3D and PERFORM-COLLAPSE will be interfaced to SAP2000 and ETABS as external add-ons, but in time this technology will be seamlessly integrated into the CSI analytical engine, SAPFIRE, which powers all CSI products.
