The Simpson Strong-Tie Titen HD Screw Anchor, for installation in cracked and uncracked normal-weight and sand-lightweight concrete to resist static, wind, and seismic tension and shear loads, was issued an ICC-ES Evaluation Report (ESR-2713). The Titen HD is an alternative to cast-in-place anchors and has been evaluated under the ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria for Mechanical Anchors in Concrete Elements (AC193), dated May 2008. Structural metal stud track
A-1 Glass, Inc., developed the patent-pending UNISTAK track to improve air and water resistance at joints in exterior curtain wall installations of light-gauge exterior steel framing assemblies, while effectively and efficiently accommodating vertical movement. UNISTAK’s interlocking track members with overlapping vertical sections and gasket system reduce the potential for air infiltration and water infiltration and provide integral drainage. The design provides for continuous engagement of the light-gauge steel framing, instead of point-concentrated connections. In addition, since the UNISTAK track is hung from the floor above, it uses conventional connectors to the building structure.

Sizing program for beams and rafters

Thermally efficient composite, concrete walls

Structurally composite sandwich walls allow both the inner and outer wythes of concrete to be load-bearing, allowing more usable interior space within the same building footprint. The wythes are joined by specially designed connectors that extend through the insulating layer to resist in-plane shear forces.
