Approved take-up devices
Simpson Strong-Tie recently received a new Evaluation Report ICC-ES ESR 2320, which features the new aluminum take-up device and coupling take-up devices as well as the typical take-up device for threaded anchor rod sizes from 3/8 inch through 1-1/4 inches. This report is issued for the 2006 and 2009 International Building Codes. These devices compensate for wood shrinkage and settlement caused by construction loading in wood framed buildings where a threaded rod or hold-down is used.
