Epoxy-based intumescent fire protection
International Paint LLC, an Akzo Nobel company and provider of high-performance coatings and fire protection, has received approval from FM Global for its new epoxy-based, intumescent Interchar 212 and Chartek 1709 fire protection products.

FM Global’s rigorous approval process included evaluation of fire test data from Underwriter’s Laboratories, as well as onsite audits at International Paint’s manufacturing facilities in the United States and Europe.

Both Interchar 212 and Chartek 1709 are dust-free and made with 100-percent solids materials that contain zero VOCs and meet fire ratings for both E119, as well as rapid-rise UL 1709 applications for up to three hours. The epoxy-based formulations provide the added benefit of durable corrosion protection even in the harshest industrial and manufacturing environments, including the semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, food distribution, forestry products, warehousing, and power generation industries. Both products are explosion-proof with up to 4 bar over blast protection.

Composite finish for existing concrete floors
