Commercial building convention set for May in Philadelphia
CONSTRUCT 2010, held in conjunction with the 54th CSI Annual Convention, will take place May 11-14 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Co-located with The Total Facility Management Show, an event for the senior executive facility manager, this event is dedicated to the institutional, industrial, and commercial building industry.

Information technology conference on deck for May in Las Vegas
AEC Technology Strategies 2010 Conference is the eleventh annual information technology conference for business and IT leaders in architecture, engineering, and construction. The event’s focus is “Tactics for Adapting Today, Strategies for Thriving Tomorrow.” The program is organized around today’s most critical issues in the four areas of responsibility for IT management including AEC Design Systems, AEC Business Systems, IT Infrastructure for the AEC Business, and The Role of the AEC IT Leader.

Scheduled for May 20-21 at the Green Valley Ranch in Las Vegas, the event, presented by Stagnito Media, offers keynote sessions including:

May’s annual bridges and structures meeting to be held in Sacramento, Calif.

BIM event scheduled for June in Kansas City
This June, contractors, architects, owners, and engineers from around the country will participate in the 2010 BIMForum in Kansas City, Mo. BIMForum’s mission is to accelerate the industry’s adoption of building information modeling (BIM) by leading by example and developing best practices for virtual design and construction (VDC).

Organized by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), this BIM meeting will focus on the primary principles of Lean Design and Construction and how BIM might be best integrated into Lean practices and vice versa. Topics will also include how VDC and BIM enhanced Lean practices in specific projects, how technology is being combined with BIM to support Lean methods, and more.
