PCS Structural Solutions has named a new president and vice president, engineering the foundation for the next generation of leadership at the region’s largest single-discipline structural engineering firm. Craig Stauffer, an employee for 14 years and already the managing principal in the firm’s Seattle office, is the new president. Brian Phair, in the firm’s Tacoma office for 13 years and long-time principal-in-charge of much of the company’s educational, correction, and health care work, is now a vice president. Both Stauffer and Phair studied architecture and engineering, Stauffer at the University of Wyoming and Phair at Washington State University. Dan Putnam remains the company’s CEO.

Walter P Moore—a national engineering and consulting firm—has announced that David Landis, P.E., Tom Magnusson, CPA, Mashari Nassar, P.E., Charles Penland, P.E. LEED AP, and David Platten, P.E., were promoted to senior principals of the firm.

O’Donnell & Naccarato, a Philadelphia-based consulting structural engineering, parking consultation, and project management firm, is pleased to announce Dennis Mordan, P.E., as principal. Having begun his career as a structural engineer in 1988, Mordan has been an employee of O’Donnell & Naccarato, Inc., for more than 17 years. He graduated from Villanova University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with a concentration in structural engineering.

The international engineering firm of Weidlinger Associates, Inc., has more than doubled its professional staff in building design in the Los Angeles area with the addition of Brian L. Cochran and Associates, Inc., Consulting Structural Engineers. The expanded office is currently located in Marina del Rey, Calif. Brian and Michael Cochran, now associate principals at Weidlinger, have completed more than 3,000 structural design projects on the West Coast, the majority in California. Both are licensed structural and civil engineers in the state. Brian Cochran is a former building director for the city of Beverly Hills. He founded the practice in 1971 and his son, Michael, joined in 1985. Weidlinger Associates, headquartered in New York, has eight offices, including one in Mountain View, Calif. The firm was established in Los Angeles in 2001 with the acquisition of Hart Consultant Group in 1992.

Grenier Engineering, Inc., is pleased to announce that Caprice Krachmer, P.E., has been promoted to vice president and will be in charge of the residential department. Krachmer has worked for Grenier Engineering since 1998 and has developed a strong portfolio of successful residential projects. Grenier Engineering, Inc., a 40-person, multi-discipline engineering firm established in 1986, provides structural and civil engineering services and has offices in Tucson and Tempe, Ariz.

Mark C. Zweig, founder of A/E industry management consulting and publishing firm, ZweigWhite, based in Chicago, has been named to the board of directors for Miyamoto International, Inc.—an international consulting firm that provides structural, earthquake, and risk engineering services out of offices in California and Tokyo. Zweig, author of 10 books on management, as well as the weekly cover of The Zweig Letter, brings more than 27 years of experience working with architecture, engineering, and planning firms. He is on the faculty of The Sam M. Walton College of Business at The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he teaches entrepreneurship and management. He also is a private investor in a variety of privately held small- and mid-sized business ventures, as well as in real estate projects.
