The 2008 Structural Engineers’ Building Conference & Expo will be held Oct. 2-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta. This fourth annual event is produced by ZweigWhite in association with Structural Engineer, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Institute of Steel Construction. The conference program is focused on the most timely and important topics to today’s structural engineer, including learning sessions on virtual building tools, technical design and analysis, current building codes and design guidelines, risk and liability issues, market opportunity, as well as project management and business strategies.

The mainstays of the conference and expo will include two days of inspiring educational sessions with keynote speakers and intensive learning sessions. In addition, an exhibit hall of vendors and industry associations that cater to the needs of structural engineers and invaluable networking opportunities with leaders from the most successful firms in the industry make this event a must for all practicing structural engineers. This year, two pre-conference seminars (note that separate registration is required for seminars) are being offered—Building Information Modeling Fundamentals: Taking it to the Next Level and Structural Hot Topics.

The 2008 conference chairman is Charles H. Thornton, Ph.D., P.E.—who is the chairman & CEO of Charles H. Thornton & Company, LLC, and founding principal of Thornton Tomasetti—has once again provided invaluable input to ensure a balanced and complete program.

Additionally, we are fortunate to have the support of many sponsors, including Autodesk, Tekla and SDS/2 Design Data.
