FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — The ACI Foundation offers fellowship and scholarship opportunities to students whose studies relate to the concrete industry. The program is highly competitive and the 2010-2011 recipients are of the elite and well deserving students.

To be eligible for an ACI Foundation Fellowship, a student must be nominated by a faculty member at a university, who is an ACI member. Eleven finalists were selected to be interviewed to receive a fellowship at the ACI Spring 2010 Convention in Chicago in March. Fellowship awards range from $7,000 to $10,000. In addition to the awards, fund recipients are paired with an industry mentor, paid travel expenses and registration fees to two ACI conventions, and some receive industry internships.

ACI Foundation Scholarship awards are $3,000. To be eligible, a student must be a graduate student in his first or second year of studies during the award year. Awarded students include:

• ACI Baker Student Fellowship — Jonathan Stratton, University of Florida
• ACI Richard N. White Student Fellowship — Aaron Woods, University of Texas at Austin
• ACI Bertold E. Weinberg Scholarship — Reid Zimmerman, University of California Berkeley
• Kumar Mehta Scholarship — Kevin Mueller, University of Notre Dame
• ACI W.R. Grace Scholarship — Ashlee Hossack, University of New Brunswick
• Katharine and Bryant Mather Scholarship — Benjamin Webster, University of Kentucky
• ACI Scholarship — Mark Steenhof, University of Waterloo
