Construction and Formwork Design
ACI Committee 347, Formwork for Concrete, seeks papers for its technical session "Construction, Formwork, Scheduling, Tolerances, and Communication." Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, all aspects of concrete formwork design and construction. Emphasis will be given to the design/construction interaction. Abstracts of 500 words or less, along with paper title, author name(s), and contact information, should be sent to John Gardner at jgardner@eng.uottawa.ca no later than Dec. 15, 2008.

Sulfate Content and Solubility
ACI Committee 231, Properties of Concrete at Early Ages, seeks papers for its technical session "Sulfate Content and Solubility: Examining Sulfate Influence on Early-Age Concrete Properties." Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, cement sulfate phase determination and solubility; clinker sulfate forms and their influence; sulfate balance incompatibility issues in concrete; Class C fly ash and chemical admixture interaction; test methods for measuring soluble sulfate; and investigating mixture incompatibilities. Abstracts of 100 words or less, along with paper title, author name(s), and contact information, should be sent to Wayne Wilson at wayne.wilson@holcim.com no later than Jan. 11, 2009.

Nanotechnology of Concrete
ACI Committees 236, Material Science of Concrete, and 236D, Nanotechnology of Concrete, seek papers for their technical session "Nanotechnology of Concrete: The Next Big Thing is Small." Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including, but not limited to, subjects related to material science of concrete with focus on nanostructure characterization, synthesis, design, and modeling of cement-based materials, as well as application of nanomaterials in concrete technology.
