ACI seeks submissions for 2010 conventions 

FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. — The American Concrete Institute (ACI) is currently seeking submissions for sessions taking place during the ACI Spring 2010 Convention in Chicago, Ill. and the ACI Fall 2010 Convention in Pittsburgh, Pa. Notable Concrete in Chicago and Vicinity
ACI Committee 124, Concrete Aesthetics, the ACI Illinois Chapter, and the AIA Chicago Chapter, seek submissions of “Notable Concrete in Chicago and Vicinity.” Selected submissions will be published for the ACI Spring 2010 Convention in Chicago, Ill., March 21-25, 2010.

Participants are invited to submit photos and descriptions of notable concrete structures in and around the vicinity of Chicago. This can include cast-in-place, precast, post-tensioned, fiber-reinforced polymer, masonry, tilt-up, etc.

Images and brief descriptions, along with contact name(s) and information should be sent to Michael Paul at mpaul@duffnet.com no later than Dec. 1, 2009.

Corrosion Resistant Reinforcement
ACI Committee 222, Corrosion of Metals in Concrete, seeks papers for its technical session “Corrosion Resistant Reinforcement – Current Performance and Alternative Materials.” This session will take place during the ACI Fall 2010 Convention in Pittsburgh, Pa., Oct. 24-28, 2010.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts on topics including field and laboratory studies on the performance of current and future reinforcing bars with the goal of understanding the advantages and disadvantages of the materials and the methods to study these materials.

Abstracts of up to 250 words, along with paper title, author name(s), and contact information should be sent to David McDonald at dmcdonald@epoxy.crsi.org no later than Nov. 30, 2009.
