Bentley takes top honors at EPC World Awards 2010

EXTON, PA. — Bentley Systems Inc. has taken top honors at EPC World Awards 2010 in the “IT in Infrastructure and Construction” category. Presented by EPC World magazine, the awards recognize the valuable contribution that infrastructure organizations and professionals from around the world have made to India’s national development.

The winners were selected by an independent panel of judges from India’s infrastructure community. Bentley received its award for its role as a key information technology partner in improving the country’s infrastructure. The winners received their awards Dec. 22, 2010, in a special ceremony at The Lalit Mumbai InterContinental hotel in India.

Tejasvi Sharma, editor-in-chief, EPC World magazine, said, “This award recognizes Bentley’s achievements in developing highly innovative information modeling and collaboration software used by design and engineering companies and owner-operators to build, revitalize, and operate India’s infrastructure. Bentley solutions and products are used on numerous projects throughout the country to help sustain our water distribution systems, roads and bridges, rail systems, buildings, and other infrastructure. I am pleased to bestow this honor on Bentley.”

Atanu Pattanayak, Bentley territory executive, said, “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all my colleagues at Bentley Systems. Our company has a long track record of working with organizations on projects across India, providing them with the software they need to improve the country’s infrastructure, thereby helping to sustain its rapidly expanding economy. Examples include the nearly 70 India infrastructure projects nominated in Bentley’s 2010 Be Inspired Awards competition. Among these was the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) project, which won a Be Inspired Special Recognition Award. NMMC deployed Bentley software to help transform a growing city with deteriorating public services and infrastructure into a vibrant habitat for all of its citizens.”

Pattanayak continued, “We’re extremely proud of the work NMMC and our other users are doing across India, and are gratified by this acknowledgement of Bentley’s role in support of it.”
