NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. – Buckland & Taylor Ltd. (B&T), a specialty bridge engineering firm, is pleased to announce expansion of its office network to include operations in Edmonton, Alberta and Halifax, Nova Scotia. These offices will be B&T's third and fourth branch offices, respectively, in addition to Seattle, WA.

The Edmonton office will service many of the local projects B&T is currently involved in and will soon start work on the $100 million Walterdale Bridge. B&T will provide specialized expertise in long-span signature bridge design and bridge construction engineering. The bridge will be a signature structure to the citizens of Edmonton, a vital link in Edmonton's extensive river valley parks and a gateway to Edmonton's downtown.

The Halifax office will service B&T's ongoing work in the Maritimes including the design of the $200 million rehabilitation of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge. The deck replacement of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be similar to the Lions’ Gate Bridge deck replacement, which was the world’s first replacement of the suspended structure of a suspension bridge while traffic continued to use the bridge. B&T was the Owner’s Engineer for the Lions’ Gate Bridge deck replacement project.

The Edmonton office will be led by B&T's Director, Alberta Practice Dale Serink. Dale has over 30 years of experience in bridge engineering including 15 years with Alberta Transportation. Dale earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and his MBA from the University of Alberta. He holds his Professional Engineering license in Alberta.

The Halifax office will be led by Halifax Engineering Manager Eileen McEwen, P.Eng. Eileen has been with B&T in North Vancouver for five years. She is originally from Halifax and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. Eileen’s engineering and construction management experience, coupled with her ability to work effectively with clients ensures her fit for this position.
