CKC announces promotions and new hire 

BELLEVUE, WASH. — Cary Kopczynski & Co. (CKC) has promoted Martin Maingot to the position of senior associate, Matt Hopper to the position of associate, and added Jorge Gamboa as senior CAD designer.

Maingot has over 10 years experience in the structural design and project management of various LEED and non-LEED certified mixed-use, hotel, office, residential, and parking structure projects. He is currently chair of the Post-Tensioning Institute Sustainability Committee and has authored several recent articles exploring the synergy between structural design, construction, and sustainability.

Maingot has successfully managed the structural engineering on a variety of significant projects throughout the United States. He recently completed project management for Seattle’s Rollin Street, a mid-rise 400,000 square foot residential loft project, Avalon Towers Bellevue, a twin tower 704,000 square foot high-rise apartment complex, and NoHo III in Los Angeles, a 190,000 square foot office building with adjacent 730-stall parking structure.

Hopper has 9 years of experience in the structural design of mixed-use, hotel, office, and parking structure projects in Washington and California. He recently completed structural design of Bellevue’s Avalon Meydenbauer, a 756,000 square-foot mixed-use project, Ballard’s Canal Station, a two phase multifamily project with 440,000 square feet, and designed a complex shear wall system for the NoHo III project in Los Angeles. Hopper is a member of the ACE Mentor Program of America which encourages high school students to pursue careers in the AEC industry.

Gamboa has 19 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting and two years experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM). He is currently working on Seattle’s Kinects, a 460,650 square foot apartment tower, and Seattle’s 815 Pine, a 490,000 square-foot residential tower.
