Halcrow names Chris Andrews managing director for the firm’s Canadian operations 

TORONTO — Joining Halcrow from Trow Associates Inc., Chris Andrews, P. Eng, senior vice president and managing director, Canada, brings more than 30 years of experience in consulting engineering design, business development, and senior management with a background in both private and public sector environments.

Michael Della Rocca, group board director and regional managing director, Americas said: “Chris’ broad foundation of experience in both engineering design and senior management in buildings and infrastructure will help us grow our business across Canada. We are confident that his addition will bring the stability and the confidence to move forward with effective and positive leadership.”

In his new role at Halcrow, Andrews will be responsible for providing overall strategic direction and growth for the firm’s Canadian operations in Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver. These responsibilities include operational and business leadership, strategic growth, client management, reputation and brand building, and creating an overall positive and supportive work environment. He also will be active in integrating the particular skills and expertise of the Canadian operations into the broader Halcrow engineering disciplines and international markets.

Prior to joining Trow, Andrews held the position of president at Carruthers & Wallace Limited, one of Canada’s preeminent structural engineering firms. While at Trow for the last six years, he led the effort to secure work in the infrastructure and buildings markets. He also has been on staff as a lecturer at Ryerson University in Toronto.

Chris has been heavily involved with business development and project development opportunities both within Canada and internationally, focusing on building engineering opportunities in North America, the Middle East, the Caribbean, South America, and China. He has played a lead role in the structural engineering design of numerous award-winning and innovative building projects. He brings to Halcrow a broadly-based business network in the consulting engineering, architectural design, construction, and institutional communities.
