Hayward Baker opens Pennsylvania office

HARRISBURG, PA. – Hayward Baker Inc., North America’s leading geotechnical contractor, announces the opening of an office in the Harrisburg metro area. Located in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, the office supports customers and projects in Pennsylvania and surrounding states.

According to Eric Drooff, senior vice president of Hayward Baker’s Northeast Region, the opening of the Harrisburg office represents a commitment to serving regionally-based general contractors, geotechnical consultants and commercial property developers. “Pennsylvania has always been an active market for Hayward Baker. Opening an office in the Harrisburg area will provide better service to our clients throughout the state.” he stated.

Recent projects are illustrative of the important work Hayward Baker already does in the region. These include compaction grouting for sinkhole repair and mitigation, micropile support for a new parking garage, and Vibro Pier aggregate pier installation to provide foundation support for a new school. In addition, soil nail and rock anchor work is underway for the Prompton Dam spillway upgrade located in Lackawanna County, Pa.

Hayward Baker’s new Harrisburg office will be headed by James B. Pease, P.E., who has been the company’s point of contact for the area for over four years. Prior to joining Hayward Baker, Mr. Pease was a project manager and Geotechnical Engineer with a regional geotechnical consulting engineering firm. Mr. Pease is also an experienced sinkhole specialist. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a BS degree in civil engineering from the State University of New York at Syracuse University from 1991.

The Harrisburg office of Hayward Baker is located in Palmyra, Pa. at 101 West Cherry Street, Suite 3.
