LOS ANGELES – ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) strengthened its position as the leader in structurally related product evaluations by developing a working agreement with International Manufacturing Source Solutions – Product Services (IMSS-PS). A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States’ leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems.

IMSS-PS is a product services company providing turnkey and supplemental product services to building product companies. When a customer hires IMSS-PS to help them obtain an ICC-ES Evaluation Service Report (ESR), IMSS-PS will work with the applicant to develop a test plan, assist them with required inspections, and provide an expedited review of test reports and quality control documentation.

“Prior to the agreement, manufacturers of new structural products would submit their plans directly to ICC-ES for evaluation,” said James F. Collins, Ph.D., P.E., ICC-ES Director of Engineering. “This could add time to the evaluation process as ICC-ES staff worked with manufacturers on collection of all necessary data and criteria development, where applicable, to complete the evaluation.”

“Now,” Collins said, “manufacturers can submit their new products to IMSS-PS, which will then work with ICC-ES to determine required data and evaluation criteria based on ICC-ES requirements. With IMSS-PS’s knowledge and expertise, the process of reviewing new structural products will be streamlined while maintaining the highest quality life-safety standards.”

ICC-ES Evaluation Reports (ESRs) and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical standards.
