PS&S to provide structural engineering services for Steel Pier Windmill Project

WARREN, N.J. — Design and engineering firm PS&S has won a contract to provide structural engineering services related to the Steel Pier Windmill Project in Atlantic City, N.J. Specifically, PS&S will be responsible for designing the foundations upon which the 100 kilowatt wind turbines will sit. At the moment, the project calls for as many as three wind turbines to be built. The first windmill is expected to be created this fall.

This is the latest win for PS&S’ growing energy practice. The firm designed the windmill farm at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority sewage treatment plant that includes five 1.5 megawatt turbines. In addition, it has provided similar engineering services for the 1.6 megawatt windmill being built at the Bayshore Sewage Treatment Plant on Raritan Bay.

In announcing this latest project win for the energy group, Anthony Sartor, Ph.D., the CEO of PS&S, said: “We are delighted to be a part of what is sure to become an iconic project on the Jersey shore. New Jersey has the opportunity to be a real leader in harnessing wind technology to provide a green, alternative energy source, and we look forward to continuing to provide our industry-leading expertise to those interested in pursuing this reliable, proven energy source.”
