Rutgers University to honor engineer 

FAIRFAX, VA. — In recognition of a distinguished 41-year career in the engineering profession, Dr. Gary E. Neuwerth, PE, has been selected by Rutgers University to receive the School of Engineering Medal of Excellence Award for Alumni Lifetime Achievement. A gala dinner to recognize Neuwerth and fellow recipients will be held on April 15, 2011.

In 1969, Neuwerth began his career with Dewberry as a computer programmer. He rose steadily through the organization, assuming management of the company’s New York City office in 1989, and serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer for its northeast operations in 1999. By 2000, he was named president of northeast operations, where he continues today overseeing the work of nearly 500 diverse professionals and seven locations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania.

Neuwerth holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
