S. K. Ghosh Associates announces IBC seminar webcast 

PALATINE, ILL. — S. K. Ghosh Associates Inc. has announced a full-day seminar in webcast format that will discuss the major new features of the 2009 IBC structural provisions.

On Feb. 16, 2011, participants will be able to access this seminar via the Internet and view slides while listening to the presentation using computer speakers.

In addition to discussions about the major new features of the 2009 IBC structural provisions, changes to the structural loading requirements as well as to the special inspection, foundation and material provisions will be presented including:

• Updated material standards (with emphasis on ACI 318-08)
• New structural integrity requirements
• Revisions to the ASCE 7-05 seismic provisions
• Revised live loads
• Revised wall anchorage requirements
• New alternate all-heights wind design method
• New rainfall intensity maps
• New special inspection requirements in Chapter 17
• Reorganization and reformatting of Chapter 18
