Sam Schwartz Engineering working for the City of Chicago to expand Its system of bike lanes

SSE was recently retained by the Chicago Department of Transportation to develop and implement an additional 150 to 250 miles of bicycle lanes and a 100 mile network of protected bike lanes. SSE will provide planning and traffic engineering services and seek public input in determining the best sustainable locations for new bike lanes. Currently, only one percent of all commuter trips in Chicago are done by bicycle with the Bike 2015 Plan seeking to increase that number up to five percent. SSE looks forward to once again providing bicycle planning services for the city of Chicago.
